JournalHair loss options for men in the Philippines
Medication, transplant, hair system — a clear map of the realistic options for men losing hair in the Philippines.
First: get the pattern diagnosed
Most male hair loss is androgenetic (pattern) loss, but thyroid issues, stress, and scalp conditions also thin hair. A professional look at your scalp — something we do at every consultation — should precede any decision.
Option 1: Medication
Finasteride and minoxidil are the two evidence-backed medications. They can slow or pause pattern loss and thicken existing hair somewhat — but they rarely restore what is gone, results fade if you stop, and finasteride requires a doctor’s guidance on side effects. Best for: early-stage loss you want to hold.
Option 2: Hair transplant
Surgically relocates your own follicles. Permanent where grafts take, but limited by your donor hair, showing results only after 9–18 months. Realistic for limited, stabilised loss with a strong donor area. See our full comparison: hair system vs transplant. If you do have a transplant, our TransplaCare programme supports the healing and growing-in phase.
Option 3: A custom hair system
Real human hair on an ultra-fine base, integrated with your remaining hair. The only option that delivers full, chosen density immediately, regardless of how advanced the loss is — with no surgery and no medication. The commitment is a service visit every few weeks and periodic renewal.
Real HEADS client — non-surgical hair replacement, before and after.
Option 4: Owning it
Shaving it off is a legitimate choice that suits some men well. If the buzzed look suits your head shape and you feel like yourself, that can be the simplest answer of all. Hair replacement is for the men for whom it is not.
Choosing in practice
Early loss → medication may hold the line. Limited, stable loss + strong donor → transplant is worth a surgical consult. Advanced loss, weak donor, or wanting results now → a custom system. Unsure → start with the option that costs nothing and commits you to nothing: an honest consultation. Ours are free, private and Greenbelt-based — and because we do not sell surgery or pharmaceuticals, we have no stake in steering you wrong.
The honest way to find out what fits your case: a free, one-on-one consultation at our Greenbelt studio in Makati. Discreet, no obligation, and you talk only to your specialist.
