Hairline & density: what makes a hair system look real

Why some hair systems look obviously fake and others are invisible: it comes down to two crafts — the hairline and the density match.

The hairline is hand-knotted, or it is wrong

A believable front hairline is graduated: finer, sparser hairs at the very front, gaining density over the first centimetre, with tiny intentional irregularities — because that is how real hairlines grow. Each of these hairs is knotted by hand into ultra-fine lace or skin material. Machine-made, ruler-straight hairlines are the single biggest giveaway of a cheap system.

Density: more is not better

The instinct is to ask for maximum thickness. The craft is to say no. A 45-year-old with the density of an 18-year-old looks wrong at first glance, even if no one can say why. We match density to your age, your face and your remaining hair — including the right percentage of grey — so the system reads as your hair, not as hair.

Direction, crown and partings

Hair grows in patterns: forward at the front, whorled at the crown, angled at the temples. A custom system reproduces your pattern, which is what lets you part it, style it back, or wear a fade without exposing the base. Off-the-shelf pieces knot everything in one direction — and it shows the moment wind or water moves the hair.

Colour matching, including grey

We match your colour in daylight, strand by strand, including the exact distribution of grey — often different at the temples than the top. As your own grey percentage changes over the years, your next system follows it.
