What is a men’s hair system?

A hair system is a custom-made hairpiece of real human hair on an ultra-fine, breathable base that covers the thinning zone and integrates with your remaining hair. Unlike a wig, it does not cover the whole head; unlike a transplant, it involves no surgery. The result is immediate: you walk in with thinning hair and walk out with a full head of hair, cut and styled to your face.

Modern systems are nothing like the toupees of the past. The base materials are so fine they disappear against the scalp, and each hair is hand-knotted in the direction your hair grows. At HEADS, every system is made in our own ateliers — a craft the company behind HEADS has practised since 1873.

Who is a hair system for?

• Advanced thinning or bald crown/top — where a transplant would not have enough donor hair to create real density.
• Younger men with progressive hair loss — a system gives full density today without committing to surgery while the loss is still advancing.
• Men who tried medication — finasteride and minoxidil can slow loss but rarely restore a full look; a system does, without side effects.
• After an unsatisfying transplant — a system can add the density a transplant alone could not achieve.

Base types: lace, skin and monofilament

Lace

The most breathable choice, with a hand-knotted, graduated hairline that reads naturally even on close inspection. Ideal for active men and warm climates like the Philippines.

Skin (polyurethane)

A whisper-thin membrane that mimics the scalp itself. Easy to clean and attach, with a very flat, realistic finish — a popular choice for shorter styles.

Monofilament and hybrids

Durable and versatile; often combined with lace fronts or skin perimeters so you get the natural hairline of lace with the durability of mono. At your consultation we match the base to your scalp, climate, activity level and styling wishes.

Real human hair, colour-matched to you

We match colour (including grey percentage), density, curl and hair direction to your own hair, so the transition from system to your hair is seamless. Density is matched to your age and face — realistic, age-appropriate hair rather than an obviously "full" look.

• 4 · Fitting, cut & styling — the system is attached, blended and cut into your style. You leave looking like yourself — with hair.
