1. What is a men's hair system?
A men's hair system is a custom made second scalp: an ultra fine base into which real human hair is knotted by hand, following your natural growth pattern. It covers the thinning zone, blends with your remaining hair and attaches securely, with no surgery and an immediate result.
2. Is a hair system the same as a toupee?
The word is older, the product is not. A modern hair system is made to your template, your density and your hairline, with a hand knotted front that is graduated to look see through. The dated toupee look came from stock pieces that fitted nobody in particular.
3. Is a hair system noticeable?
Not when it is custom made and fitted properly. It is matched to your hair colour, density, hairline and growth direction and blended with your own hair. At conversation distance and to the touch it reads as your own hair.
4. How much does a men's hair system cost in the Philippines?

5. How long does a hair system last?
With correct care and regular maintenance appointments, a premium human hair system typically lasts many months to over a year. The base type and how you wear it, particularly sweat and sun exposure, decide the lifespan.
6. Hair system or hair transplant: which is better?
A transplant relocates your own follicles surgically and takes months to show a result, and it depends on having a sufficient donor area. A system covers the area immediately with no surgery and no downtime. Some cases genuinely suit surgery better, and we say so and refer you.
7. Do I have to shave my head for a hair system?
Not necessarily. Some preparation of the attachment area can be helpful depending on the technique and the bonding method chosen, but this is discussed at the consultation and only done with your agreement. It is not automatic.
8. How is a hair system attached?
Two options: permanent bonding keeps the system on continuously for weeks between service appointments, and perimeter bonding attaches around the edges so you can remove and refit it yourself. Your hair, scalp and lifestyle decide which suits you.
9. Can I shower with a hair system on?
Yes. A properly attached system stays secure through showering, and you wash and style it much like your own hair using the gentle products we recommend. Drying the attachment area properly is the part that matters most.
10. Can I do sports and swim with a hair system?
Yes. A properly attached system stays secure through running, gym, tennis and swimming. We match the base and the attachment method to how active you actually are, so it is planned for your life rather than adjusted afterwards.
11. How often does a hair system need servicing?
We recommend a maintenance visit every few weeks to clean the base, refresh the attachment and restyle. Regular servicing is what keeps a system looking fresh and extends its life considerably, and appointments can be booked in advance.
12. Can I remove the system myself?
With perimeter bonding, yes, and we teach you the routine at the fitting. With permanent bonding, removal happens at your service appointment. Which applies depends on the attachment method chosen with you at the consultation.
13. Is a hair system bad for the scalp?
Not when it is fitted correctly and serviced regularly. Problems come from neglected hygiene under the base, product buildup and skipped service appointments rather than from wearing a system as such. A scalp routine is part of what we set up with you.
14. Will a barber or hairdresser notice?
They may, because they work close to the scalp, which is why we cut and service the system ourselves. Your regular haircut is done here as part of the service appointment, so you do not need to explain anything to anyone.
15. What is the difference between a lace and a skin base?
A lace base is breathable and gives the most natural, invisible finish, particularly at the front hairline, but it is more delicate. A skin or poly base is more robust and easier to clean and attach, but less breathable. Climate and activity level usually decide.
16. Will my partner notice I am wearing a hair system?
When it is custom made and fitted properly, it looks and feels like your own hair, including up close and to the touch. Many clients wear their system every day at home without anyone noticing. What you choose to share is entirely your decision.
17. Can I wear a helmet or a cap with a hair system?
Yes, and it is worth telling us at the consultation, because it affects the base and attachment we recommend. Regular helmet use means friction and heat at fixed points, and we plan the system around that rather than against it.
18. Can I have a modern haircut or a fade with a hair system?
Yes, and this is one of the biggest changes from older pieces. Once the system is fitted, our stylists cut and style it into any modern look, from a sharp fade blend to longer textured styles. You are not limited to one safe cut.
19. What if I have an oily scalp or dandruff?
Both are manageable and both need to be raised at the consultation, because they affect the base type, the attachment method and the service interval. A suitable scalp routine under the system is part of the plan rather than an afterthought.
20. Can I wear a hair system after a hair transplant?
Only once your surgeon clears you, because the grafted area must not be disturbed and that timing is a medical decision. Our TransplaCare service guides transplant aftercare here in the Philippines, whether the transplant was done with us or abroad.
21. Can I combine a transplant with a hair system?
Many clients do, for example a transplant at the frontal area and a system for the crown. What matters is the sequence and the healing time, which we plan together with your surgeon's timeline rather than in isolation.
22. Is a hair system hot to wear in the Philippines?
Not with the right base. Breathability is the deciding factor in a tropical climate, and the ultra fine base is designed to let the scalp breathe. We select the base and attachment with heat and sweat in mind, not just appearance.
23. Can a hair system include grey hair naturally?
Yes. Grey percentage is matched to your own hair and distributed the way grey actually grows, rather than blended evenly. Age appropriate density and grey distribution are what stop a system looking artificial.
